The University of Pécs Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy offer five programmes in English for international students: General Medicine, Dentisrty, Pharmacy, Biotechnology BSc and Biotechnology MSc.
Let us give you a deeper insight into our General Medicine programme first.
Short Description
Degree: M.D.
Duration of training: 6 years (M.D.)
Number of available places: 180
Head of the programme: Prof. Ferenc Gallyas, MSc, PhD, DSc
The tuition fee / academic year: 16.750 USD (9000 USD for the first and 7750 USD for the second semester)
The programme consists of 6 years of pre-clinical and clinical studies (ten semesters and one year of clinical rotations). The curriculum is drawn up in the belief that direct experience with patients, either at the bedside or in the operating theatre, is fundamental to a sound medical education.
The first 2 academic years are called Basic Module, when students are introduced to the basic life processes, to the structure of the healthy human body and other fundamental subjects.
Then in the third academic year, which is the Preclinical Module, students can get acquainted with pathological processes, the sick human body, pathogens, the basics of pharmacology and propaedeutical subjects and can develop basic patient examination skills.
In the Clinical module in the fourth and fifth academic years students will get into direct contact with patients and will get an insight into all the medical specialities. Most of these studies are practical in nature.
Clinical rotation is the last year of universities studies, which is a full practical year in wards carrying out medical activity under control.
