Get Ready for the First Day: Orientation Day for Freshmen

A new chapter is about to begin! As you prepare to start your studies at the University of Pécs Medical School or Faculty of Pharmacy, we are excited to welcome you to your new academic home in Pécs.
On 26 August 2026, our Orientation Day will bring together first-year students from the English-language programs in General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Biotechnology, as well as students from the German-language Medicine and Dentistry programs. The event is designed to help you feel confident, informed and ready for the beginning of your university journey.
Everything you need to know before your first semester
Starting university in a new country can be exciting – but it can also come with plenty of questions. Orientation Day is your opportunity to get practical information about the things that matter most as a freshman.
During the mandatory information sessions, you will learn about:
- enrolment and important administrative procedures;
- the start of the academic year and your first semester;
- immigration-related matters;
- the services provided by the Admissions and Student Service Offices;
- the Peer Program and student support;
- the English-German Student Committee (EGSC);
- university and faculty services available to students.
The sessions will also give you the chance to ask questions and meet the people who will support you throughout your studies.
Meet your fellow students and discover university life
Orientation Day is not only about administration. It is also your first opportunity to start building your community.
Following the information sessions, you can visit information stands in the Dr. Romhányi György Aula and discover different university and faculty organisations, services and student opportunities. It is a great chance to meet other freshmen, connect with student representatives and find out where to turn when you need support during your studies.

From your first lecture to your first practical class, your time at the University of Pécs will be filled with new experiences, challenges and opportunities. Orientation Day is the first step in getting to know your faculty, your classmates and the support network that will accompany you throughout your studies.
